Come with me and watch me live my Carrie Bradshaw fantasy

I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. Hi! My name is Maria Gabriela Pettus. I am originally from Caracas, Venezuela and moved to the U.S. when I was 18 for school so now I just go by Maria Pettus (my gringa name). I’m 25 years old and work full-time at a investment bank as a UX UI Designer.

So now to the real question: Why start a blog? Why now? Honestly, I really don’t know. What I do know is I’ve been weirdly obsessed with writing and reading since I was a kid. And I also know I’m a Carrie Bradshaw fan to my core (even though she is a toxic girly), but even though I don’t have the professional writing skills of my home girl Carrie, I was always fascinated of the intricacies of having a blog, of it being sort of a personal diary where you’re able to just share your opinions, thoughts, dislikes. I love the idea of creating a community of like-minded people and being able to share what you love with others, because I don’t know about you guys but I definitely don’t share all of my interests with my close friends so sometimes I don’t have no one to talk about my hobbies. Actually, that’s the real reason I’m creating this blog. Instead of draining my friends and family with my obsession with books, movies, fashion, skincare, food, etc. I can just hop on my blog and drain whoever wants to read!

I hope you also want to join me during this weird, sometimes awkward starting point of this blog (which is totally out of my comfort zone). As I said before, this will be kind of like a personal diary, I will share some of my recommendations and reviews on books, movies and food; I honestly don’t know what direction this blog will take, but I do know it will be entertaining, authentic, and 100% me. So I thank you for reading and for joining this ride with me!
